Welcome to my new website and my first blog post!

It seems appropriate the first blog post should be about all things new and to share the thoughts behind my website refresh.

The Pretty Sugar Cake Company website first launched in September 2015. It was important to me that I had a strong, professional brand identity from the offset and I did a considerable amount of research to find a designer who would understand my brand and be able to interpret my ‘look’ … and I was very fortunate to find Lucy Ledger. 

Lucy is an award winning illustrator and artist specialising in both web and paper based design and as soon as I clicked into her perfectly pastel world I knew our styles were compatible and she did indeed bring my vision to life with a beautiful website

Three and a half years on (where did that go?!) trends and designs have changed, techniques have been honed and my style has evolved. My website needed to reflect all of that… so time for a change!

The main images throughout the site are by Amanda Wilcock of Cream Photography. Amanda and I met at a beautiful styled wedding shoot in the long hot Summer of 2018 and her soft photography style works in perfect harmony with my pretty, understated cake style. 

With a suite of beautiful new images Lucy once again created a virtual shop window into my business, with a focus on all the pretty details, perfectly representing The Pretty Sugar Cake Company brand.

And now I have a blog, so I’ll be talking all things wedding cake, design process and consultations over the coming weeks as well as sharing some 'behind the scenes' insight into my cake world. I’m planning to have some guest bloggers too so stay tuned for the fun times ahead...
